History of The
Morgan Sports Car Club
Northern California

The Morgan Sports Car Club of Northern California began in the Bay Area in the mid-1950s as interest in Morgan sports cars grew in California.

​

Originally formed in 1955 as the “Morgan Plus-Four Club of Northern California,” the club was officially organized in 1957 by a small group of Bay Area Morgan owners.

​

Early members organized rallies, tours, dinners, and social gatherings to promote enthusiasm for Morgan motoring. The club’s first major competitive event was the 1958 “Buccaneer Rally.” Over time, membership expanded from a handful of owners to well over 100 enthusiasts across Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.

 

The club evolved into the Morgan Sports Car Club of Northern California to reflect the wider variety of Morgan models represented by members.

Activities now include monthly board meetings, social events, and one-day tours. We also have three overnight driving events called the Spring Mog, Fall Fog Mog, and Mog West.

​

Members have long supported one another through restoration, maintenance, technical advice, and preservation of Morgan automobiles.

​

The club newsletter—originally The Morgan Plus Four Format, and now The Morgazette, keeps members informed about events and club news.

​

The club remains dedicated to preserving the tradition, camaraderie, and enjoyment of the Morgan Sports cars throughout Northern California and neighboring Northern states.
